The Telecom Modernization Act Will:

  • AT&T customers in Sunnyvale use their wireless devices to stay closely connected with family, work and friends. They expect reliable wireless coverage anytime, anywhere. Having areas in town with little or no coverage is inconvenient and challenging. AT&T is committed to intensifying our efforts to improve your wireless coverage.
  • That’s why AT&T is seeking approval from the City of Sunnyvale to place a 65-foot monopine cell site adjacent to the tennis courts at 1080 Mango Avenue (see photo below). A “monopine” is the technical name for a simulated tree – but this isn’t the monopine of the 80’s. Today’s monopines look almost identical to surrounding trees – less noticeable and better coverage.

This photo simulates the AT&T cell site proposed for 1080 Mango Avenue. Designed to resemble a pine tree, the site blends with the existing surroundings.

  • The cell site at 1080 Mango Avenue is one of several new sites we are planning for Sunnyvale this year to bolster AT&T customers’ coverage – especially in their homes and throughout their neighborhoods.
  • The proposed site is designed to blend with the surrounding environment. It will accommodate one additional wireless carrier, reducing the need for additional cell sites in the immediate area.
